 HOUSES

The roofs of the houses are covered with red tiles. The walls of typical houses are made of stones but recent houses are painted in a soft colour (beige, sandy colours)

The windows are made of wood with shutters.

Houses usually have two floors with a balcony but there are also houses without any floors.

These houses usually have a terrace.

 The tempest

In 1999, on the 26th of December there was a tempest.

More than 300 millions of trees were down after the tempest. (4% of the forest in France), not to mention all the trees which had to be cut after.

62 persons were killed and more than 150 persons were injured.

In the park of the castle in Versailles ten thousands trees were destroyed.

It will take 100 years to have the same trees.
